And when the fowls came down upon the carcasses, Abram drove them away (Genesis 15:11)
God instructed Abram to offer a sacrifice, which he did. But once the animal was slain and placed upon the altar, buzzards came. Not visions, not revelations, or blessings – but buzzards!
Did you think Christianity would be easy for you just because you sacrificed to God? Did you expect something wonderful to swoop down and take over? Always remember - somebody or something is always there to steal your offering of dedication to God.
Drive them off. Stay by the altar. Even though it’s a struggle to do so, fight for what’s right.
You can’t stop vultures from hovering overhead, but you can prevent them from landing.
