Sunday Recap on Monday

Okay, two things. #1, I had some internet issues yesterday which prevented me from posting a Sunday recap. #2, I got occupied watching the Super Bowl.

So what about yesterday?

Good service. Good attendance. Good all the way around.

Concluded the series, “Growing Up is Hard to Do” and finished with the topic, “Crashing Through Quitting Points.” Very practical and relevant. A lot of positive feedback today.

Sound bites from the message:
  • The Christian life is not a 100 yard dash. Rather a life-long marathon.
  • When you gave your life to Christ, you signed up for life.
  • Don’t treat Jesus like an option on a buffet line.
  • I see people all the time who start well, say they’re going to do great things, and then flame out after six months or one year.
  • Focusing too much on your circumstances or other people will mess you up.
  • It’s dangerous to say “no” to God.
  • The same sun that softens wax hardens clay.
  • Dropouts reveal their true motives the moment they quit.
  • 99% of the people who turn back do so because they don’t love God supremely.

We have such a great church. It’s a joy to worship when there is unity.
