Today’s message was timely and very applicable for us.  It came from Haggai 1:1-14.  The people had lost their spirit to build God’s house.  Some were even saying, “Now is NOT the time to build (invest in) God’s House.”  Because of their apathy God chastened with lean harvests, withering corn in the corncrib, and financial hardships.  They were working to panel their own homes while God’s House lay in ruins.  Consequently, the people could not get ahead.  For all their work and earning of wages, it was like putting their money in a purse that had holes in it.

The key passage was “consider your ways”, appearing two times.

For us at Pace Community Church NOW is the time to consider our ways and to put God first in our lives.

In the message I talked about the state of our church, including its finances, new service time, new initiatives for next year, and the importance of relationships for community.

A few quotes from the message….

We build people.

Programs don’t build the church.  Jesus builds the church.

Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain which build it (Psalm 127:1).

A special shout out goes to everyone who helped this week with our design changes in the atrium, in the sanctuary, in the children’s wing, and the landscaping outside.  It made a good impression.

I am very excited about 2012 both for me personally as well as for PCC.

Next Sunday I’m beginning a new message series on the book of Esther.

Great day today!
