Corking the Whine...

Whiners. Don’t you just love them?

I used to think that people complained because they had problems. But now I have come to realize that they have problems because they complain. It almost becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, or a self-imposed crisis. Complaining doesn’t change circumstances or feelings, nor does it improve one's situation. Rather, it amplifies frustration, spreads discord among brethren (which God hates – Proverbs 6:16-19), and invites the destroyer to cause more havoc in our lives.

  • Complaining gives place to the devil – I Corinthians 10:10
  • Complaining is not for Christians – Philippians 2:14
  • Complainers are ungodly, to be reserved for judgment - Jude 15-16

In contrast, the Bible teaches us to dwell on good things – Philippians 4:8

Turn the page. Take responsibility for your present situation. Move on. You can have a new day and see your situation improve by the things you say. Or you can be condemned by your words.

  • Jesus said, “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matt. 12:36-37).

Your choice.

It’s time to cork the whine.
