Is God Real?

Is God Real? Does He really exist? Here are two simple common sense peices of evidence:

1. We can know God exists because He actively pursues us.

The very fact that you, and all people in general, constantly talk about God is evidence that God is pressing the issue of His existence. Atheists constantly talk about God trying to disprove Him. Believers talk about God attempting to prove Him. Even unbelievers, though not living for Him, talk about God as being literal. God is cursed, exalted, denied, proclaimed, blasphemed, worshiped, debated and argued about by the entire human race. Everyone talks about God in some manner! This is God Himself pressing the issue of His existence on mans conscience, which manifests itself in the form of human dialogue.

Consider the atheist – Why would an atheist spend so much time talking about something or somebody they don’t even believe exists? Because God is pressing Himself upon their conscience and they cannot escape His pursuit.

2. We can know God exists because men actively seek Him

There is a natural instinctive desire within all men to reach out and worship – something or someone. No matter how primitive or advanced a culture is, you will always find worship in some form. It may be misdirected, but worship is present.

Here are four simple promises of God for those who seek Him:
  • (Acts 17:24-28 NKJV) "God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. {25} "Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. {26} "And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, {27} "so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; {28} "for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.'

  • (Luke 11:9-10 NKJV) "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. {10} "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

  • (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV) But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

  • (James 4:8 NKJV) {8} Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

Why do men actively seek God? Because they instinctively know of His existence. This knowledge is imprinted upon every human being. And God’s promise to us is we will find Him when we seek Him.

CONCLUSION:

Let me summarize. Everyone talks about God; atheist’s, believers, unbelievers, saints and sinners alike. Men seek God all across the planet and have done so down through the ages. Therefore, if God is not real this tendency of man can only be attributed to an accidental mechanism of evolution.

Or either it is God Himself pressing the issue.
